seonumi and Yoast SEO: not either-or

Yoast SEO is a WordPress plugin you work with inside the editor. seonumi is a service that checks your site from the outside on a schedule and fixes what you allow. A site can use both.

The short answer

Keep Yoast SEO if you use it. seonumi doesn’t replace it and doesn’t change its settings. We add what a plugin inside the editor doesn’t do on its own: a scan on a schedule, fixes you can undo, a report every Monday, post suggestions and, on Pro and Extra, backlink monitoring.

If you don’t use Yoast, seonumi still works. Its automatic fixes then cover page titles and image alt text; on a site without any SEO plugin, the seonumi Connector plugin also adds meta descriptions, social tags and structured data itself.

  • Yoast SEO’s features can change from version to version; Yoast’s own site lists what it offers today.

How they work together

  • Titles: we update the page’s own title in WordPress, which many themes also show at the top of the page. By default Yoast builds the title tag from the page title; if you typed your own SEO title for a page in Yoast, Yoast uses that one in search results instead.
  • Meta descriptions: we write a description into Yoast’s own description field only when that field can be written through the WordPress REST API. A standard Yoast install doesn’t allow that; then the pages that need a description appear in your findings, and you write it in the Yoast box under the editor.
  • Alt text: we write it to the image in your Media Library, which Yoast doesn’t manage.
  • No overlap: we don’t touch Yoast’s settings, sitemap or structured data, and while Yoast is active the seonumi Connector plugin adds no second canonical, set of social tags or schema graph.

Questions about seonumi and Yoast SEO

Do I need Yoast SEO to use seonumi?

No. Scans, findings, title and alt text fixes, posts, backlinks and the Monday report work without it. Automatic meta description fixes work where Yoast SEO’s description field can be written through the WordPress REST API, or with the seonumi Connector plugin on a site without any SEO plugin.

Will seonumi conflict with Yoast?

No. We don’t change Yoast’s settings, sitemap or structured data, and while Yoast is active the seonumi Connector plugin never adds a second canonical, social tags or structured data of its own. Every change we make is listed with its before and after, and can be undone.

Should I uninstall Yoast if I use seonumi?

No. Yoast works inside the editor and controls site-wide settings; seonumi checks your site from the outside on a schedule. They do different jobs.

Do you work with other SEO plugins?

Today automatic description fixes work with Yoast SEO, where its description field can be written through the REST API, or through the seonumi Connector plugin on a site without any SEO plugin. Scans, findings, title and alt text fixes don’t depend on which SEO plugin you use.
