Backlinks

Backlink monitoring you can verify, on Pro and Extra

See which sites link to yours, as our own crawler found them on the linking pages, and how that changes from one check to the next. Every number is something we saw, not an estimate.

What you see about your backlinks

Who links to you, verified

A page counts only when our crawler opens it and finds a real link to your site. Each link shows the linking page, the anchor text, the page it points to on your site, and when we first and last saw it.

  • Labelled “Verified by our crawler” in the app
  • Linking sites and live links, counted from what we saw

New and lost links

We check the links we know again with your scans, so you see which links are new since the last check and which were lost. A link that goes missing is checked again before we call it lost.

Anchor text and follow status

See the words each link uses and whether it is follow, nofollow, ugc or sponsored. A link also counts as nofollow when the linking page tells search engines not to follow its links.

Suggestions from your competitors

Name up to 3 competitors on Pro, or up to 5 on Extra. We show sites that link to them but not to you, always labelled as suggestions: each one says what we saw and what we didn’t. A suggestion never counts as one of your links.

Patterns worth a look

Our analysis flags things such as most links using the same anchor text, many links from one site, linking pages that no longer open, and links to pages on your site that redirect or are broken. It is labelled as our analysis, not as a fact about your site.

How we find and verify backlinks

We look for pages that may link to you with a web search (Google’s Gemini, with Google Search) and from the links we already know. The search only suggests where to look: it never decides that a link exists.

Our own crawler then opens each page and checks it for a real link to your site. Only what the crawler sees is counted. It reads one page at a time, waits between requests to the same site, follows robots.txt and never logs in. How the link checker behaves.

What we don’t claim

  • We count only links on pages our crawler has read. This is not every link on the internet.
  • Links that a page adds with JavaScript are not seen.
  • Pages that block crawlers in robots.txt aren’t read, so their links aren’t counted.
  • We don’t estimate authority scores such as DA or DR, and we don’t call links “toxic”.
  • We don’t ask other sites for links on your behalf, and we don’t buy or exchange links.

Backlink questions

How do you find my backlinks?

We look for pages that may link to you with a web search and from the links we already know. Then our own crawler opens each page and checks for a real link to your site. Only links our crawler has seen count. Pages that block crawlers, links added by JavaScript and pages we haven’t reached aren’t counted.

Do you show Domain Authority or Domain Rating?

No. Those are estimates by other companies. We show what we verified: which site links to you, with what text, follow or nofollow, and since when.

Is backlink monitoring part of the trial?

No. It is part of Pro and Extra. Pro checks your backlinks with every scan, up to 30 pages per check; Extra checks them every day, up to 50 pages per check.

Why don’t I see a link I know about?

Our crawler may not have reached that page yet, the page may block crawlers in robots.txt, or the link may be added by JavaScript. A link appears only after our crawler has seen it on the page itself.
